Sonatec ultrasonic content sensor

Description

The SONATEC sound velocity sensor provides continuous measurements of sound velocity in liquids. It is specifically designed for applications that demand maximum sensitivity and accuracy. The sensor is user-friendly and requires no maintenance. To measure sound velocity, a piezo-element in a sonic transmitter generates a sound pulse that moves perpendicular to the product flow towards a sonic receiver for detection. By knowing the distance between the transmitter and receiver, the sound velocity can be easily calculated by measuring the travel time of the sonic signal. The correlation between concentration and sound velocity, a specific property of each liquid, can be described using a mathematical polynomial. Centec has extensive experience and its own laboratory facilities to determine these polynomials for a wide range of products. Any temperature drifts in the measured signal are automatically compensated for by an internal Pt1000 sensor. The SONATEC sensor can display sound velocity and concentration in various units. Centec also provides specially designed SONATEC sensors for sound velocity measurement in tanks.
