Oxytrans TR inline disolved oxygen content sensor

Description

The OXYTRANS sensor is the perfect choice for the continuous monitoring of dissolved oxygen levels in both liquids and gases. This instrument is meticulously designed to meet the demands of applications that require maximum sensitivity and the highest level of accuracy. Furthermore, it is user-friendly and virtually maintenance-free, making it an excellent tool for various industries.

Unlike some other oxygen sensors, the OXYTRANS does not require the use of electrolyte solutions, and it does not consume oxygen during the measurement process. This is a significant advantage in terms of ease of operation and cost-effectiveness.

The core of its optical measurement technology is based on luminescence quenching, a process involving the non-emission-based redistribution of excitation energy through molecular interaction. Within the sensor's measuring head, there is a small glass component that contains a thin layer of indicator molecules referred to as the optical window. These indicator molecules are exposed to blue-green light emitted by an LED within the oxygen sensor. Upon exposure, they absorb the incident light and transition to a higher energy state. After a certain time, these molecules return to their ground state, emitting red light during this process. This red light is then detected within the sensor.

Crucially, when O2 molecules are present, the energy is transferred from the excited indicator molecules to the oxygen molecules. This molecular interaction results in the redistribution of excitation energy without any resulting emission. Consequently, the detected signal decreases with an increasing concentration of oxygen molecules in the substance being measured. Importantly, other gases do not absorb this energy, ensuring they have no impact on the measurement results.

Furthermore, any potential temperature fluctuations affecting the measured signal are automatically compensated for by an internal Pt100 sensor. This feature ensures the accuracy and reliability of the sensor's readings even under varying environmental conditions.

In summary, the OXYTRANS sensor is a highly precise, efficient, and maintenance-free instrument for continuous dissolved oxygen measurement, offering valuable insights for a wide range of applications.
