Oxytrans M portatable optical oxygen sensor

Description

The OXYTRANS M is an ideal choice for continuous monitoring of dissolved oxygen levels in both liquids and gases. This instrument is specifically designed for applications that demand maximum sensitivity and the highest level of accuracy. Operating the OXYTRANS M is straightforward, and it requires minimal maintenance. Unlike some other oxygen sensors, it does not necessitate the use of electrolyte solutions, and it does not consume oxygen during the measurement process.

The technology behind the OXYTRANS M is based on luminescence quenching, a phenomenon where excitation energy is redistributed without emission due to molecular interactions. Within the sensor's measuring head, there is a small glass component containing a thin layer of indicator molecules known as the optical window. When these indicator molecules are exposed to blue-green light generated by an LED within the oxygen sensor, they absorb this light and transition to a higher energy state. After a period, these molecules return to their ground state, emitting red light during this process. This red light is then detected inside the sensor.

However, when O2 molecules are present, the energy is transferred from the excited indicator molecules to the oxygen molecules. This molecular interaction leads to the redistribution of excitation energy without any subsequent emission. Consequently, the detected signal decreases with an increasing concentration of oxygen molecules in the substance being measured. Other gases do not absorb this energy and, therefore, do not influence the measurement results. Additionally, any temperature fluctuations affecting the measured signal are automatically compensated for thanks to an internal Pt100 sensor

The OXYTRANS M boasts a lightweight yet robust design, featuring an IP65-rated aluminum housing that ensures its durability. Connecting hoses to the device is a straightforward process, making it a highly practical and portable solution for various applications.
