Degas Hot unit for production dearated water with low oxygen content

Description

To treat the water in the column deaeration system, it undergoes heating to a temperature of 72°C or higher using an integrated, regenerative heat exchanger. The heating process reduces the solubility of oxygen in the water while disinfecting it. The heated water is then introduced at the top of the column. The column consists of densely packed, thin stainless steel sheets arranged in a manner that creates multiple pathways for the water to flow downward. This design maximizes the transfer surface area and contact time between the water and the strip gas, which can be either CO2 or N2. The strip gas is introduced at the bottom of the column and moves upward, counter to the flow of water. The significant partial pressure difference of oxygen causes the oxygen to be expelled from the water into the gas phase, in accordance with Henry's Law, a fundamental scientific principle. At the top of the column, the removed oxygen exits the system as a gas, along with any remaining undissolved CO2 or N2. Hot column deaeration requires minimal strip gas usage. The deaerated water's oxygen content is continuously monitored using a high-precision optical OXYTRANS sensor provided by Centec, a company with extensive experience in developing and manufacturing precision instruments for O2 control. The virtually oxygen-free water is collected at the bottom of the column and can optionally undergo cooling or additional carbonation for further processing

Application:

Corrosion is primarily caused by the presence of dissolved oxygen. The DeGaS-Hot deaeration system effectively eliminates oxygen from water used for purposes such as steam generation or rinsing. In the deaeration process, the water is heated and disinfected simultaneously.

Key Features:

  • High-precision OXYTRANS sensor for precise process control.
  • Not sensitive to particles in the water and requires low strip gas consumption.
  • Simultaneous disinfection of water during the deaeration process.
  • Customizable modular design with a standard PLC for flexibility.
